Gotta love Social Bookmarking. Myself I wanted to see how Gogle would react to new social bookmarking sites so I put two together.

The first had to do with all the restrictions some SB sites place on gambling content. Now don't get me wrong I understand the concerns that some administrators have regarding the topic so that is why I put betHYPE - Gambling Social Network | Published News | together, so people from my industry had a place to bookmark their content.

Seeing how well Google responded to the new SB site I created one called Fantasy Sports Bookmarking - Published News - that addressed Fantasy Sports content. Sure a lot of the existing SB sites have sports sections but too few had categories for fantasy sports alone.

Again, I was quite pleased to see how both of these sites were doing in the SERPS in such a short period of time. Not that I am concerned about PR ratings these days but bethype.com went to a PR 4 in roughly 8 weeks and rotovote.com gained a PR 3 in about 5 weeks. I also find bookmarked content within the SERPS too - sweet.

The SB site influence won't last for long but for as long as they do I will be riding that wave.

I find social bookmarking to be nice for blogs, but for permanent sites it doesn't do much good. Interest just disappears too fast.

By the way, did you see that Google will add social bookmarking features to it's search engine?

Google will add social bookmarking? Thats really good, everyone can search and easy to find something about anything. Social bookmarking suitable mostly for blog users and any forums or any websites with article included.

Yes just another addition to the google universal search - shame that is as universal search is just another way for google to place their own products in the results.
